The Dock girls experienced total team efforts which lead to solid performances on Friday Night. It was a fun evening in which we saw 21 new personal best marks established and 12 district qualifying marks achieved!
Two seniors and two freshmen made up the team of the rarely contested Shuttle Hurdle Relay. Kate Landis, Celena Derstine, Alison Keach, and Irina Althouse placed 4th overall running 1:15.36.
The Girls 4x100m relay placed 2nd overall. The girls (Derstine, Landis, Keach, and Ruth Michel) finished just off their season’s best time running 55.89 seconds.
There were many excellent individual performances. Abbie Woods took a strong first place in the 100m hurdles running 16.29.
Abbie also took 3rd in the triple jump going 33 foot 10 and a half inches and placed 8th in the 200m running a personal best 27.34.
Abbie along with teammates Lindsey Bernd and Kate Landis showed off their throwing strength as all three girls finished in the top 7 in the Javelin. Abbie improved her PR by 17 feet throwing 92 feet and the District qualifier placing 6th. Lindsey Bernd inched Abbie out by 2 inches for the top Dock finisher throwing 92 foot 2 inches for 5th overall. Kate Landis popped off a new personal best throw on her last throw of the prelims improving by over 6 feet going 87 foot 8.
Lindsey Bernd also medaled in the 800 meter run taking a strong 3rd place running 2:29.94 for the district mark and Freshman Elle Bergey took a 6th place in the 400 meter dash clocking in at 1:04.62 hitting the district qualifying standard.
