Every point counts and every point was counted and recounted again and again, but both Dock Track and Field teams just could not make up the few points needed to repeat as Team Champions. When the dust settled the boys came up 2 ½ points short to the Church Farm School and the girls came up a point short to Saint Basil Academy.
Although a team victory was not to be had, individual champions were plentiful. For the girls, Sabrina Demetrius returned to form and won the Shot Put and Discus. Dock completed the sweep of the throwing events with Lindsey Bernd taking first in the Javelin. On the track, Abbie Woods won the 300 meter hurdles.
For the boys, Austin Kratz tied his school record winning the 100m in 10.78, and also won the Long jump. Nick Smith won both the 110 meter high hurdles and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles. Ian Anderson won the 400m in impressive come-from-behind fashion and Alex Martin dominated the shot put and the discus where he threw another school record throw of 153 foot 3 inches. The 4x400m relay of Marques Brockington, Ian Anderson, Jeremy Moyer, and Nick Smith took the win to close out the meet. All District Champions mentioned will be representing Dock at the State Championship meet this weekend at Shippensburg University.
Other top three finishers were:
Irina Althouse 2nd in the 300 hurdles
Abbie Woods 2nd in the 100 hurdles, 3rd in the Javelin and Triple Jump
Isaiah Denlinger 2nd in the 3200m
The 4x800m relay (Addison Schweizerhof, Chris Keach, Matt Leavy, Steve Seachrist) took 2nd
