Boys Varsity Track vs. Multiple Opponents

The Dock track and field team split their team between runners and jumpers at the Unionville Invitational and thrower at The Reagan Throws Open hosted by the Pioneers.
It was a day for records with nine personal records and one season best at the Unionville meet and three athletes getting PRs at the Reagan meet named in honor of former Dock throws coach Bob Reagan.
At the throws meet, Emily Merrill won the javelin with a throw of 64-feet-10, and was second in the girls shot put with a personal-record 23-4 throw. Her 64-foot discus throw was just off her personal best and placed her third.
Amy Muhlfeld threw a personal-best 18-7.75 for fifth in the girls shot put. She also took second in the girls javelin with a 61-11 heave.
Gabby Kaelin threw a new personal best of 57-5 for sixth in the girls discus.
Logan Naidoo’s 16-1.5 throw was a new best in the girls shot put. She threw 42-9 in her first attempt with the girls javelin. She placed fifth in the girls discus with her 60-2 throw.
It was another good meet for Xander Morsby. One day after a school-record triple jump, the junior won the boys event at the Unionville Invitational. He also finished seventh in the boys 100 meters in 11.83 seconds and capped his day with a seventh-place run in the boys 200 meters in a season-best 23.52 seconds, just three-hundredths off his personal best. The time puts him third in the 200 in the District 1 AA rankings.
Tessa Moyer ran a personal best of 12:00.10 and exceeded her seeding in the girls 3,200 meters. The time puts her second in the district.
London Bey moved to seventh in the district with a PR of 53.66 seconds in the girls 300 hurdles. Felicity Kaelin ran 1:03.23. On the boys side, Akoi Deng ran 46.90 in the 300 hurdles and Roman Kurian ran 48.21 seconds.
Dan Pitzen ran 12.11 seconds in the boys 100 and Stephen Archer lowered his personal best to 15.10 seconds. For the girls, Bey ran 14.73 and Felicity Kaelin ran 15.49 seconds. Pitzen returned to run 24.56 in the boys 200.
Fiona Kaelin ran a new personal best of 5:37.66 for second in her heat of the girls 1,600 meters. She is ranked fifth in the district now. She came back to run 2:35.36 in the girls 800.
Jude Peterson finished the boys 1,600 with a new PR of 5:21.76. He also came back in the 800 and recorded another personal best, 2:27.69.
Pitzen, Kurian, Bennett Briggs and Morsby ran 45.59 for fourth in the boys 4x100 relay.
Bey was just off her best with a 19.46 clocking in the girls 100 hurdles, and Felicity Kaelin ran a PR of 21.34.
Deng ran a new best of 19.55 in the boys 110 hurdles. He bumps up to sixth in the district rankings. He also cleared a personal record 5-6 in the boys high jump.
Briggs jumped 17-8.5 in the boys long jump. Isaiah Landes competed in the boys pole vault.
The Pioneers have just one more week of the regular season. They’ll compete at the Helman Invitational on Thursday and the Henderson Invitational next Friday as they look to lower their records even more.
