Too many snow days & not being at full strength hurt the Lady Pioneers in their first contest of the new year when they visited Upper Moreland High for a Saturday afternoon game.
Dock held its own in the first, scoring 7 points and yielding 16 to the home team. As the defense picked up in the 2nd quarter, unfortunately for Dock, its offense did not replicate it’s defense. The Lady pioneers were shutout by Upper Moreland’s defense providing them with a 24 to 7 lead at the half.
In the second half, Dock continued to fight, not giving up despite being down it’s a few players.
Upper Moreland coasted to an eventual 47 to 22 victory, leaving the Lady Pioneers with a 2-5 record.
Guard, Kate Strickland tallied 10pts & 6rebs while guards Brooke Bozarth notched 6pts & 3 assists. Guard Cailey Ridge & forward Jocelyn Pfleiger scored 4 & 2 respectively.
Dock is currently on a three game losing streak, but are determined to bounce back into the int column in its next contest @ home against league foe Morrisville on Thursday Jan. 11th, tip time is 6pm in Longacre gym.
