Dock took on 6A Pennridge yesterday and made a huge statement to open their season.

The scoring started in the top of the first as Sam Laux, 3 for 3 with a 2B and 2RBI on the day, drove a double to left center scoring Brayden Kratz, with one of his 3 runs scored and Nate Lapp, one of his 2 runs scored. RBI singles by Zack Frederick (2 for 4 with a RBI) and Zach Neff (2RBI on the day) pushed the lead to 5-0 in the 3rd inning.

Less than 48 hours after a heartbreaking defeat in the Basketball 2A State Quarterfinals, Nate Lapp stepped to the plate, with a 5 run lead and having already thrown three perfect innings on the mound, drilled a HR to right centerfield to extend the lead to 6-0. Brayden Kratz scored the last run for Dock and finished out the game on the mound for the Pioneers with two innings of work.  Cooper Brannon added two hitless innings on the mound and a double at the dish.

Dock takes on Devon Prep Friday at 4:00 at home.
