On a Thursday afternoon at Dock Mennonite Academy it started to spritz but it wasn't long before the clouds cleared and the Dock Lacrosse team was on their way to winning.  The Pioneers started out strong over the Academy of New Church and keep the lead the entire game and never looked back.  Dock beat a feisty Academy of New Church twelve to six was the final score.

Pioneers were led by Kenzie Derstine with four goals and one assist, Abby Mellinger with two goals and three assists, Megan Wenzel with two goals and one assist, Olivia Zaskoda with one goal and one assist, Tess Bergey with two goals and one assist and second Varsity goal by freshman Emerson Gruver!

Pioneers are playing great lacrosse with some amazing plays on both ends of the field, if you haven't gotten the opportunity to watch this amazing team come out to a game you won't be disappointed.  Our goals of playing together as a team is really coming together, with three second left in the the first half, senior Olivia Zaskoda was fouled and on the whistle made a quick whipping pass to cutting Abby Mellinger in front of the cage and she finished with an awesome shovel shot and scored!

Outstanding offensive plays by Kenzie Derstine, Abby Mellinger, Megan Wenzel, Tess Bergey and Olivia Zaskoda could be seen all afternoon, along with fascinate defense from Olivia Veltre, Kayla Godshall, and Clara Gomez-Martin.

Pioneers goalie Haley Harper once again made some incredible saves that even the other team's coach commented.  Haley Harper made seven saves  Pioneers had eleven draw possessions and ten ground ball pick ups to Academy of New Church eight draw possessions and nine ground ball pickups.

Pioneers are looking forward to playing Lansdale Catholic at home @ 5:30pm on Friday, with two great games this past week, Pioneers look to continue to finish the week strong.
