On a Thursday afternoon, the Pioneers of Dock Mennonite traveled to Gwynedd Mercy Academy to play the first round of AA district playoffs. Pioneers lost fifteen to two.
Pioneers attack was led by Sophie Veltre who scored on an eight meter shot and Emerson Gruver who also scored on an eight meter shot. Pioneers attack had seven shots on goal, nine ground ball pick ups, and five draw control possessions. Strong attack from Emily Markel, Aubrey Clemmer, Lily Hunsberger, Brielle Bauman, Sami Anderson, Bailor White and Belyse Landis.
Pioneers defense was led by goalie Ashlyn Koelzer who had four saves in the game today. Strong defense from Jenna Detweiler, Maddie Gendron, Amanda Moyer, Avery Goldcamp and Daniella Slater Miller. Pioneers defense caused one interception.
Pioneers wrap up the season with a record of 8-9 overall and 6-0 in BAL
Pioneers want to congratulate our six seniors, Lily Hunsberger, Samantha Anderson, Damiana Frrokaj, Endi Barbullushi, Amanda Moyer, and Jenna Detweiler, for all the great memories this season and years in the past!
Pioneers season in a review, Pioneers went undefeated in the league, a team's first, and also won the BAL league, a team's first, and also added a junior varsity team, a team's first!
We would like to thank our team mom's, for all they do during the season and behind the scenes as well, Jodi Detweiler, Mindy Gruver, and Brooke Clemmer.
We would also like to thank our athletic director, Seth Frankenfield and athletic trainer, Ryan Gunn and athletic staff, for planning, scheduling, organizing, communicating, set up, clean up, social media, and all things that go on during the season and prior and all the hard work they do, its much appreciated!
Thank you to our team captains who led us all season long, Jenna Detweiler, Amanda Moyer and Aubrey Clemmer.
Special thank you to all the girls who came out this season, we achieved so much, and worked hard, and a lot of great memories, from team bonding activities, bus rides, scavenger hunts, beating Jenkintown, senior night, this was largest number of girls out for lacrosse, Congratulations!
