The Dock boys cross country team performed well in their first Bicentennial Athletic League meet of the season. Held on a warm sunny Thursday at Tyler State Park, the Pioneers did not have the necessary five finishers to score as a team in the tightly contested team race, but the four individuals that ran all had encouraging results.

James Steinmetz was tough from start to finish to pace the Pioneers. The senior in his first season of cross country placed sixth overall in 19:33.10. Over the final half mile, he passed two runners while navigating the hills of Tyler for the first time in his career. Aaron Sensenig was just three spots behind for a good 1-2 punch. The senior captain placed ninth in 19:55.60, an improvement of 1:17 over his first race at Tyler last year. Xander Morsby pushed through his first trip to Tyler to run 22:18.40 for 32nd place. Ryan Ykoruk also got his first look at the Tyler course and the freshman finished 39th in 22:47.10.

Dock will not compete again until Sept. 21 when they run the Whippet Invitational at Downingtown West High School.
