Dock Academy vs. Delaware County Christian School at Mainland GC 9/16
The Pioneers were unable to avenge an earlier season loss, as Delaware County Christian School came to our home course at Mainland GC and put up a strong team score of 216. The Pioneers finished with a solid 227 but came up short. The Knights, who are tied for the league lead with Faith Christian, showcased why they remain a top contender, while Dock continues to hold third place in the league standings.
Co-captains Cal Hackett and Zeke Longacre led the Pioneers with scores of 42 and 43, respectively. This duo has been the driving force behind the team all season, and their consistent play was once again on display. A standout performance came from freshman Graham Landes, who shot a 46—his best round of the fall season, improving his personal best at Mainland by an impressive 8 strokes. This level of improvement is what every player and coach hopes to see—well done, Graham!
Seniors Logan Sell and Isaiah Giesbrecht delivered solid rounds, scoring 47 and 49, right in line with their season averages. Their steady contributions have been a vital part of the team’s success all year. Freshman Connor Jones also tied his season-low at Mainland, continuing to show promise with a solid performance.
The Pioneers will look to bounce back from this loss on Wednesday when they travel to John F. Byrne Golf Course for a match against MaST Community Charter School. Good luck to all!
