Dock Academy vs Faith Christian Academy at Mainland GC 9/19

The Pioneers faced off against the Lions of Faith Christian for their second match of the season on Thursday. Having suffered a defeat earlier in the season at Sweet Water GC, the Pioneers fought hard but came up just short again, with the Lions securing a narrow victory, 223-227, at Mainland GC. The Lions remain tied atop the BAL League standings with Delaware County Christian, heading into the league championship on September 25th.

Dock Academy gave it their all and nearly pulled off the upset. Junior Co-Captain Cal Hackett led the way with an impressive round of 39, tying for the lowest score of the match. Senior Co-Captain Zeke Longacre followed with a solid 44, while Senior Logan Sell matched his season low at Mainland with a 46, scoring below his season average. Sophomore Jackson Korne contributed with a 48, also under his season average, and Senior Isaiah Giesbrecht rounded out the top five with a 50.

Seniors Eric Hand, along with Freshmen Graham Landes and Connor Jones, also competed, though their scores didn’t count toward the team total.

This was a special match for our senior players, as it marked the final home match of their high school careers at Mainland Golf Course. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and how they’ve represented Dock Academy over the years. Their hard work, leadership, and dedication to the team have been exceptional, and they’ve set a strong example for the underclassmen to follow. We’re grateful for all they’ve given to this program.

Though the team won’t be competing for the BAL Team Championship, several individual players will have the chance to compete for the Individual Title at the league championship next week.

Good luck to those competing, and well done to the entire team for a great effort!
