The Jim Kelly Invitational offered all available Dock team members a chance to compete for the first time in 12 days.
After the John Heins Invitational was cancelled due to weather last week and the Pioneers didn’t have enough team members to run in the BAL Relays due to the spring break, Dock offered any of their individual track athletes the chance to compete in the large meet at Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday.
The Pioneers took advantage with 12 season and personal records.

Luke Smeland threw a personal-record 132-feet-2 for seventh place in the boys javelin. He narrowly missed making the finals. In third already for the district, he moved up more than two feet and is within three feet of the automatic qualifier. The senior captain also threw a personal best of 35-10.25 for 13th in the boys shot put. He also registered 82-9 in the boys discus.

Xander Morsby extended his district leading boys triple jump mark. The sophomore placed sixth with a new personal best of 39-feet-6. That’s almost 2-feet further than the next district best.
It was a good day overall for Morsby. His 11.87-second clocking in the boys 100 meters was a personal best and sits fifth in the district rankings. His 24.30-second finish in the 200 meters was a season best and good for seventh best in the district.

Ryan Ykoruk ran 5:44.91 in the boys 1,600 meters.
Cade Jackson made a strong debut in the boys 300-meter hurdles. The sophomore ran 49.29 seconds for 17th place. That time puts him third in the district. He also had a PR in the boys long jump of 17-feet-7.
Roman Kurian was just behind in a personal record of 49.99, solidly in fourth for the district ranks. The junior returned to run 1:01.47 in the boys 400.
