Girls Varsity Track vs. Multiple Opponents

The Dock boys and girls track and field teams faced trial by fire in the first meet of the season.
The Pioneers competed at the North Penn Open that featured more than 40 teams, many of them AAA. The top competition was a challenge for Dock, but the experience will help going forward into the season.
Lily Price made an encouraging debut for the girls.
Price nearly hit the automatic District 1 qualifying standard in her first time in the 300 hurdles. The freshman ran 53.92 seconds. The qualifier is 53.24.
Price ran her first 100-meter hurdles race in 20.08 seconds. Olivia Mozzone ran 20.12 and Lizzie Kennard-Chalmers finished in 22.24. Mozzone ran 59.05 seconds and Kennard-Chalmers ran 1:02.53 in the 300 hurdles.The entirely new girls 4x800 relay of Claire Nyce, Lydia Sensenig, Neva Peterson and Karli Godshall ran 11:22.84 for ninth place.In the girls 800 meters, Tessa Moyer ran 2:39.44, Sadie Bernd ran 2:44.15, Lydia Sensenig finished in 2:50.81 and Godshall went 3:09.88.
Moyer was Dock’s top finisher in the girls 1,600 in 5:57.43. Nyce finished well to run 6:25.83.Logan Naidoo ran the girls 100 meters in 15.43 seconds and Cianna Thompson ran 15.47.
Ella Lee debuted in the girls 200 meters with a 38.71 second clocking.
Dock will be at home to host the Tom Putera Invitational on Saturday. The meet is named for the former volunteer track and field assistant coach and parent who passed away unexpectedly in 2022 from a heart issue.
