Conwell Egan 2

From pitch one of the game versus Conwell Egan, Dock showed they were ready to compete against the Philadelphia Catholic league competitor.
Brayden Kratz led the game off with a triple that one hopped the rightfield wall and scored after an errant throw by Conwell Egan. Matt Miles got Hit by a pitch and Josh Mascio lined a single to left but Dock was unable to score.
Rylan Purnell, James Steinmetz and Deven Ross each threw two innings of efficient baseball only giving up a combined 1 earned run and two runs total.
The offense couldn’t push another run across the plate while scattering 5 total hits and four walks. Singles from Steinmetz, Bryan Dorneman and a double by Deven Ross weren’t able to score but the opportunity for the guys to play at a minor League field was an awesome experience they will never forget.

Coming off a difficult loss against a league opponent lit a fire under Dock Academy’s lineup.
Five of the nine hitters in the lineup had two or more hits led by Matt Miles four hits and four RBIs in four at bats. Brayden Kratz, 2 for 3, had 2 doubles and Josh Mascio, 2 for 3, tied Matt Miles with 4 runs scored. Miles day was capped off with his second double that one hopped the wall in left
James Steinmetz continued his impressive season on the mound, going 5 innings and only giving up one earned run, scattering 6 hits and picking one runner off of first base.
Bryan Dorneman and Dev Ross each went 2 for 4.
 

Dock took on Calvary Christian and things didn’t go their way for the first 5 innings as Calvary put 3 runs on the board before Dock even came to bat. But the combination of Matt Miles, Bryan Dorneman and Josh Mascio came through to pull the Pioneers to within 2 runs when Mascio drove in Miles with a sacrifice fly.
Calvary answered back with two runs on a single to left field with two outs and two strikes pushing the lead to 5-1, which is where it stayed till Dock woke up in the 6th inning bringing 11 men to the plate and scoring 6 runs to take the lead at 7-5. Brayden Kratz drove in the tying run with a sacrifice fly to centerfield and Deven Ross drove in the game winning run with a ground ball to SS.
Ethan Kratz, Deven Ross, Matt Miles and Josh Mascio led the way with to hits each, with Mascio leading the way with 2 RBI.
On the mound Rylan Purnell struck out 7 over 3.1 innings and was 1 for 1 at the plate with 2 walks.
Dock takes on Church Farm tomorrow at Church Farm.

Dock opened the season against William Tennant and took care business early and often. A cold game got warm quick in the first inning.
It was a game for firsts. First win of the season, first Varsity hits for Eddie Nealman, Ethan Kratz and Rylan Purnell with Eddie and Rylan going 2 for 2 with 3 and 1 RBI respectively. Every starter had at least one hit except two players, but everyone was on base at least once. Led by Matt Miles 3 hits and Brayden Kratz’s 4 RBI and 2 triples, the offense outpaced Tennant 17-2. Brayden Kratz threw 3 innings with 3 K’s and one earned run.
