On a beautiful Friday night, Pioneers hosted non league opponent Pope John Paul II. Pioneers outstanding team performance defeated PJP three to two.
Pioneers offensive front was led by Ellie Crissman, Scarlett Derstine, Paige Hinnershitz, and Mary-Ellen Picariello. In total, Pioneers had ten shots on goal and eight penalty corners.
Pioneers goals were scored by the following: In the first quarter, Ellie Crissman goal (2:15) unassisted, second quarter, Scarlett Derstine goal (4:14) assisted by Beylse Landis, and third quarter Lydia Ehst (7:20) assisted by Sadie Bernd.
Pioneers midfielders were led by Sophia Veltre, Sadie Bernd, Ashlyn Koelzer, Daniella Slater-Miller, and Beylse Landis.
Pioneers goalie, Madison Afanador made four saves on the night. Pioneers showed strong defense from Lydia Ehst, Avery Goldcamp, and Olivia Mozzone.
Pioneers continue to play great team field hockey, and look forward to next game on Monday, away at Plumstead, 3:45pm
