Pioneers Field Hockey traveled to Academy of New Church for an afternoon game, in what would be a highly skilled match up, with the final score being in Docks favor three to two. Pioneers first goal came in the second quarter by Paige Hinnershitz (4:04) assisted by Scarlett Derstine. Pioneers scored again in the fourth quarter again by Paige Hinnershitz (11:34) assisted by Scarlett Derstine. Their final goal was scored by Sadie Bernd with 5:01 remaining on the clock to put the pioneers up three to two in the fourth quarter.
Pioneers had ten shots on goal and eight penalty corners. Strong offensive play from Paige Hinnershitz, Scarlett Derstine, Aubrey Clemmer, and Ellie Crissman. Midfielders Sophia Veltre, Beylse Landis, Daniella Slater-Miller, Sadie Bernd and Ashlyn Koelzer all contributed to both sides of the ball as well.
Pioneers goalie Lily Kulp had eight saves on the afternoon. Defender Lydia Ehst had a defensive save. Pioneers defenders Lydia Ehst, Avery Goldcamp, and Olivia Mozzone all contributed to strong defensive play through out the game.
Pioneers continue to play strong team field hockey through out the game and finished strong at the end of game as well. Next game is Monday versus BAL opponent Jenkintown at home at 7pm.
Pioneers overall record is 6-1 and 3-1 BAL
