On Wednesday the Dock Field Hockey traveled to Sacred Heart for a non-league game. The Pioneers won 2-1 in an exciting finish at the end of game, scoring the game winner with no time left on the clock.
Lydia Ehst scored (8:30) in the second quarter with an assist from Sophia Veltre. Scarlett Derstine (no time left) scored the game winner with an assist from Daniella Slater Miller.
The Pioneers had 17 offensive corners and 14 shots on goal with outstanding midfield play from Belyse Landis, Sophia Veltre, Sadie Bernd, Daniella Slater-Miller and Ashlyn Koelzer. Goalie Madison Afanador made 2saves on the afternoon. Strong Defense came from Lydia Ehst, Olivia Mozzone, and Avery Goldcamp.
Paige Hinnershitz, Aubrey Clemmer, Ellie Crissman, and Scarlett Derstine led Dock's solid attack. Thr Pioneers are continuing to play great team field hockey and working together.
Dock's overall record is 8-1 and 4-1 in league play. Our next game is Friday at home vs Villa Joseph Marie for non-league game, Junior Varsity - 3:45pm and Varsity - 5:30pm.
