Pioneers Field Hockey hosted Villa Joseph Marie for a non league game, on a Friday early evening. The outcome of the game was oin the Pioneers favor, winning two to zero.
Pioneers goals scorers were Lydia Ehst (5:12) assisted by Sadie Bernd in the first quarter and Ellie Crissman (11:36) assisted by Beylse Landis in the third quarter to secure the win.
Pioneers outstanding midfield play from Sophia Veltre, Sadie Bernd, Beylse Landis, Natalie Fabrizio and Ashlyn Koelzer, help to transition the ball from defense to offense.
Strong attacks from Paige Hinnershitz, Scarlett Derstine, Ellie Crissman and Aubrey Clemmer helped create many opportunities. In total, the Pioneers had fourteen shots on goal and nine offensive corners.
Solid defense from Lydia Ehst, Avery Goldcamp, Laura Charles and Olivia Mozzone. Pioneers goalie Madison Afanador made ten saves in the game, had strong clears, and communicated well with those around her. She is credited with the shut out.
Pioneers are playing excellent team field hockey and working hard to achieve our team goals this season. Pioneers next game is home on Monday, September 30 vs the George School at 3:45pm.
