On a rainy fall night game, our Pioneers traveled to Faith Christian for a league game. Pioneers lost seven to three.
Pioneers scored in the first quarter and twice in the fourth quarter. Our first quarter goal was scored by Scarlett Derstine (11:50) assisted by Lydia Ehst. Our fourth quarter goals were scored by Scarlett Derstine (6:58) unassisted and Sophia Veltre (4:10) assisted by Lydia Ehst. Pioneers offense had nine shots on goal and four offensive penalty corners. Pioneers offense created opportunities through out the game led by Paige Hinnershitz, Scarlett Derstine, Ellie Crissman, Aubrey Clemmer and Ashlyn Koelzer.
Pioneers midfielders Sophia Veltre, Sadie Bernd, Natalie Fabrizio, and Beylse Landis played well on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
Pioneers goalies Madison Afanador had eight saves in the game and Lily Kulp had three saves in the game. Pioneers defender Lydia Ehst had a defensive save. Strong defense from Lydia Ehst, Olivia Mozzone and Avery Goldcamp.
Pioneers will regroup and learn from this game, looking forward to our play for the cure game and homecoming this weekend. Pioneers will host non league opponent Souderton on Saturday for Varsity 12:45pm game start and Junior Varsity 2pm game start.
