On a nice fall afternoon, Pioneers of Dock Mennonite Academy traveled to Bristol to play a league match up. Pioneers won two to zero.
Pioneers had fifteen shots on goal and seven offensive penalty corners. All of our goals were scored in the fourth quarter. Aubrey Clemmer scored first (9:38) assisted by Sophia Veltre and Ashlyn Koelzer scored (6:17) assisted by Aubrey Clemmer. Our attack was led by Aubrey Clemmer, Scarlet Derstine, and Ashlyn Koelzer.
Pioneers midfield was led by Sadie Bernd, Sophia Veltre, Beylse Landis, Natalie Fabrizio and Daniella Slater Miller. Together, they created a lot of attack and opportunities on free hits.
Pioneers goalies Lily Kulp and Madison Afanador were credited with the shut out. Lily Kulp had one save and Madison Afanador had one save on the afternoon. Strong defensiv eplay was also shown from Lydia Ehst, Laura Charles and Olivia Mozzone.
Pioneers continue to play strong together.
Varsity Field Hockey's next game is on Saturday vs league opponent Delco. Pioneers will travel for a 1:30pm start time.
