On a Monday afternoon, the Pioneers field hockey team traveled to league opponent Jenkintown for an afternoon game. Pioneers won the contest seven to zero.
Pioneers created loads of attack and had six different players scoring goals Goal scoring began in the second quarter with Scarlett Derstine (6:51) assisted by Beylse Landis, Sadie Bernd (5:42) assisted by Ashlyn Koelzer, Lydia Ehst (3:36) assisted by Sadie Bernd, Aubrey Clemmer (12:12) assisted by Sadie Bernd, Mary Ellen Picariello (12:45) assisted by Ellie Crissman, Beyse Landis (9:24) unassisted and Sadie Bernd (7:32) unassisted.
Pioneers attack created eight offensive penalty corners and fifteen shots on goal. Pioneers attackers who helped create these opportunities were Ellie Crissman, Scarlett Derstine, Aubrey Clemmer, Ashlyn Koelzer, Brielle Bauman, Mary Ellen Picariello, Nakiyah Jones, and Abby Herman.
Pioneers midfielders Sophie Veltre, Beylse Landis, Sadie Bernd, Daniella Slater-Miller, Natalie Fabrizio, Torra Landis and Claire Nyce all were present and had an important role in our offensive attacks.
Pioneers goalie Lily Kulp was credited with the shut out and had two saves in goal, including a diving save. Strong defensiveplay was shown from Lydia Ehst, Avery Goldcamp, Olivia Mozzone, Laura Charles, Lydia Sensenig and Millie Landis.
Pioneers next game is against non league opponent Lansdale Catholic at home. Varsity 3:45pm game start and Junior Varsity 5pm game start, Pioneers will wrap up their regular season on Wednesday and will start district playoffs next week.
