On a crisp fall Wednesday afternoon, the Pioneers of Dock Mennonite Academy hosted non league local opponent Lansdale Catholic and won five to zero.
Pioneers had twelve shots on goal and six offensive penalty corners. Pioneers began scoring in the second quarter, with Beylse Landis (12:32) leading it off assisted by Sadie Bernd. Following the initial goal, Ellie Crissman (6:55) assisted by Scarlett Derstine, Sadie Bernd (6:14) unassisted, Sophia Veltre (13:25) assisted by Sadie Bernd and Mary Ellen Picariello (12:11) assisted by Beylse Landis.
Pioneers goalie Madison Afanador was credited with the shut out and had four saves in the game.
Outstanding team play by each player on the team and communication on the field was strong as well.
Pioneers wrap up their regular season with a record of 14-4 overall and 7-3 BAL.
As a group, we are looking forward to hosting district playoffs next week. District seeding meeting is Thursday, at 7pm, as we will find out who we will be playing and when.
