Collegium - 12

Pioneers lose a nail biter at the end of game, 12 to 11 to Collegium Charter. Pioneers hosted today on a beautiful sunny afternoon.

Pioneers were led by Abby Mellinger with 6 goals, Jenna Detweiler add 2 goals (Happy Birthday today!), Emerson Gruver, Sophie Veltre, and Mary-Ellen Picariello each added a goal as well. 

Tess Bergey helped with the circle, Lily Hunsberger, Emily Markel and Brielle Bauman ran offensive plays and helped the team develop more offensive shots. 

On the defensive end, Mady Pustay made 2 saves in goal, Olivia Veltre, Amanda Moyer, Ava Dunn, Daniella Slater-Miller, Sam Anderson and Maddie Gendron played strong and physical game against some strong attackers. 

As a team, the Pioneers had 23 shots on goal, 16 draw controls, 13 ground ball pick ups, and caused 6 turnovers. This is heart breaking loss, but we played great together, we stepped up when we needed to, and we played as a team. As the season goes along it will be exciting to see the continued improvement together. 

Next game the Pioneers host our first home night game @ 6pm this Friday vs Nazareth Academy, we hope to see you there!
