On Thursday afternoon another beautiful day, Pioneers hosted Jenkintown and lost 15 to 6.
Pioneers played well in first half, and score was 5 to 3 at half time.
Pioneers were led in goal by Brielle Bauman and Sami Anderson. Brielle had 2 saves and Sami had 4 saves. Both girls stepped up big time for the team and played in goal and did an awesome job. Pioneers also had strong defensive plays from Olivia Veltre, Tess Bergey, Amanda Moyer, Ava Dunn, Maddie Gendron, and Daniella Slater-Miller. Pioneers defense caused 6 turnovers.
Pioneers attack was led by Abby Mellinger with 3 goals, Jenna Detweiler with 2 goals, and Sophie Veltre with a goal. Pioneers had 13 draw control possessions, 18 ground ball pick ups, and 9 shots on goal. Pioneers also had 3 eight meter shots. Pioneers had strong attack from Lily Hunsberger, Aubrey Clemmer, Mary Ellen Picariello, Emerson Gruver, and Emily Markel
Pioneers are continuing to develop and are strong in team communication and being positive.
Pioneers are looking forward to hosting senior night on Monday, May 6 vs Coventry Christian @ 6pm, as we honor our five seniors, Abby Mellinger, Tess Bergey, Olivia Veltre, Maddy Churches and Jenayah Alvarado Vanegas, will be a night to remember!
