Dodds, Bauman, boys newcomers shine at BAL meet

The Dock track and field team went back on the road just two days after a full-day meet and responded well with another batch of bests to open the month of May.

In a Bicentennial Athletic League meet hosted by Interboro on Monday, the girls were highlighted by wins in both hurdles and the triple jump from Bobby Jo Dodds and a season best from the 4x800 relay among a number of personal bests and successful debuts. A quartet of newcomers produced bests in the 400 meters to highlight the boys’ day along with second-place finishes for the 4x100 relay, Micah Mast, Daniel Ringenberg and Matthew Mast and personal records led by Drew Bauman’s javelin and 110-meter hurdles marks.

Dodds won the girls 300 hurdles in 48.84 seconds, took the 100 hurdles narrowly in 17.82 seconds and triple jumped 31-feet-11. She anchored the second-place 4x400 relay.
