Pioneers Lose: 1.00 - 2.00
Pioneers hosted Faith Christian Academy for a district semifinal match up at Dock Mennonite Academy. Pioneers lost 2-1 but was a great played game by both teams.  Pioneers goalie Madison Afanador made twelve saves. Pioneers scored first in the third quarter of the game with a goal from Eden Schrag @ 6:09 left on the clock which was unassisted as she brought the ball into the circle and made a few dodges before she fired the ball into the cage.  Faith scored two goals in the third quarter (Chyenne Green) @ 2:13 and (Daniella Burns) @ 1:00 to take the lead.  Pioneers had three offensive corners and nine shots on goal. Pioneers had opportunities to score and unfortunately hit the post a couple of times. This season the team had a 14-4 record and won the BAL for the fourth time in a row. We set out goals of achieving things and we worked hard over the season to reach them. Each girl played an important role on the team and brought energy and positive attitude to each practice and game and had a lot of fun in the process.  We remember our six seniors, Eden Schrag, Maria DeRosa, Sarah Boyer, Olivia Veltre, Erin Miles, and Leah Al Laty and celebrate them and remember what they have given the program over the last four years.  To the girls who are returning: you have a bright future, a lot of potential, and are hardworking individuals who want to achieve and be the best they can be.   For anyone who would like to try field hockey, you are welcomed to come out for the team. Each year we have new players who come out and have never played before.  Special thank you to our team moms, athletic staff, scorekeepers, timers, trainer, and all those who work behind the scenes to make our season go with ease.   We will always remember the 2023 field hockey season. Heart and soul was brought on with the fire to be the best you can be, I can't say enough positive things about this group of girls who set the bar high and went after it!  You made us proud and we want to say thank you for all you did, more than just the wins, are the many memories that were made that will never be forgotten. Our singing bus rides, meals together, warm up for games, setting goals and going to achieve them, and most of all, just being who you are!      Your field hockey coaches, Michelle, Macy and Kylie
