Dock Loses Tough District Battle to Faith After exceeding expectations and making Districts, Dock found themselves faced against a strong Faith team Tuesday night. Faith held control of the match throughout the night but Dock was determined to fight till the end. And fight they did. As a team Dock hit in the positive getting more kills than errors focusing on taking care of the ball and not giving Faith free points. All night Dock never backed down from the fight no matter the score. Ava Dunn and Lela Martin had the best blocks of the season helping spark their team when needed most and making the gym erupt when shutting down their hitters. Sophia Mercure played a great game for Dock at libero position all season and finished the game with a team-high of 14 digs. Adelyn Clemmer scrapped on defense earning 7 digs and also added 3 big kills from the outside. All season long Adelyn led from the service line and again Tuesday night she had the most attempts by finding ways to pressure them and create runs for her team. Sophia and Adelyns ball control have been a constant for Dock all season and were evident again Tuesday night. Lela Martin led the team with 5 kills taking some big swings at the pin and finding ways to get her team the point. Addison Landis played a great game at outside earning 2 kills and providing great defensive plays all night. Lianna Vargas stepped up Tuesday night running the show at setter earning 4 kills and scoring on every attack she made. Every time Lianna was faced with adversity during the game she stepped up and kept fighting for her team. The coaches were immensely proud of the way this Dock team fought hard all year earning this playoff berth, but more importantly, learning how to be teammates for one another and play for something bigger than themselves. Great season girls! Coaches Logan, Lanae and Kirby

Pioneers Win: 3.00 - 0.00
Dock's winning streak was snapped when facing strong competition this past weekend vs Neshaminy and Lansdale Catholic   Friday Dock traveled to Neshaminy and played a well-balanced team. With a setter that saved many out-of-system serves, Neshaminy found ways to always bounce back when Dock would get the upper hand. Defensively Dock worked hard and earned 16 digs from Sophia Mercure and another 10 from Lela Martin. Adelyn Clemmer led from the service line leading the team with 2 aces. Overall the girls continued to fight and work against a strong Neshaminy side, and came up short losing in 3.    Saturday for Dock's homecoming, Lansdale Catholic came to Longacre gym and showed another level of play Dock has not seen this year yet. Lansdale Catholic proved the stronger side with a powerful offense and strong serve, limiting Dock to only one ace from Adelyn Clemmer. Adelyn also contributed 4 kills on the day with Avan Dunn matching her swinging out of the middle. Sophia Mercure added 16 digs off a high powered offense, and Dock had moments of great defensive play and rallies won. In the end Lansdale Catholic proved superior with a 3-0 sweep in Dock's gym and a 0-2 end to the weekend.    Dock will be back Home on October 16th @ 7pm for Dock's Senior Night and the last home game of the season vs Academy Park.

Dock Wins in 3 at Collegium's Senior Night   Dock traveled to Collegium in a packed gym with sunlight glaring off the floor in a tough playing atmosphere. The game started off with many aces from both sides, but Dock quickly took control by dominating at the service line and fighting back. Ella Bechtel led the team in Aces with 6 total getting her team going with lots of serving runs and picking apart the passers. In a game that was not the cleanest from Dock, the girls proved they could take care of the job when called upon. When faced with the game on the line, Ava Dunn served her team back from a deficit to win the game in extra points. She also paced Dock with 6 kills out of the middle hitting at .200. Addison Landis played a great game from the outside stepping up when called upon by leading the team with 7 crafty kills. Also on the defensive side, Adelyn Clemmer took the Roomba role Wednesday and paced her team with 16 digs, working very hard to not let a ball touch the floor. Sophia Mercure also added 15 digs playing strong defense but even better serve receive. This was a great team win for the girls in a competitive gym atmosphere, and from the start they made sure to take care of business getting contributions from every player.    Game scores: 25-18, 28-26, 25-13   Dock's next HOME game is Saturday's Homecoming @ 12:30 vs Lansdale Catholic

Pioneers Win: 3.00 - 0.00
Dock entered Longacre Gym Friday night looking to extra their first win streak of the season to 3, and they made sure to take care of business right away in three straight games! After beating Renaissance in 5 games at their gym, Dock returned a sharper and more disciplined team this time, taking them in three straight sets with no let-off. The play of the night easily comes from a combined play from Sophia Mercure and Addison Landis, when a ball was mishandled and played backward and was run down by Addison back by the track. Then Sophia came flying out of nowhere, chucking the ball overhead from downtown to travel all the way back across the gym to earn her team a point in a big momentum shift. Keep an eye on Sportscenter for the Highlight. Dock was led offensively by both Outsides swinging away, Adelyn Clemmer with 4 and Addison Landis with 3. The "Human Roomba" (Sophia) was back at it again pacing Dock with 24 digs keeping Longacre gym's floor nice and clean of any kills along with 7 digs from Lela Martin and Adelyn and Lianna both with 5 digs each. The girls fought hard on defense for this win and stayed focused all throughout, earning 15 aces on the night, giving lots of opportunities to implement some high-quality ACE cheers.    Game scores were: 25-21, 25-23, 25-18   Dock is back in action at HOME Tuesday vs Plumstead @ 3:30

Dock was playing their third game in three days and decided to use that to propel them forward from the start. The first two sets Dock controlled the play and outworked George School in almost every aspect, from aggressive serves, smart free balls, and keeping the floor clean on defense! Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Nazareth Academy High School

Pioneers Lose: 1.00 - 3.00
Dock traveled to Nazareth Academy High School Monday night to continue their stretch of 5 straight games. The gym was hot and humid with a low ceiling but that did not deter the girls from bringing the energy and fight all match. Dock continued to improve upon their season and work hard together as a team with each girl contributing where they were asked. Each game was decided by five or less points and Dock let a couple opportunities get away from them that could have completely flipped the match in their favor. Defense was the focus on Monday night not letting a ball drop that we could make a play on and every point was evidence of that. Sophia "The Roomba" led the team with 28 digs making sure nothing got past her, Adelyn and Addison both were disciplined on defense and also contributed 7 digs each. Lela Martin led Dock in hitting with 7 kills, hitting great placement shots and aggressive swings to lead her team at the net. Ava demanded the ball every rep she was on the court and contributed 6 kills by outsmarting the defense with precision placement out of the middle. Lianna ran the offense as usual for Dock and continues to show how hard work pays off. Lianna set her teammates up well in a hot and humid, low-ceiling gym, and also had 3 huge setter dumps which ended in a kill to spark Dock when needed. Overall the girls continue to play for each other and leave it all out on the court.  Next game is away Tuesday at Renaissance Academy Charter School, and the Next Home game is Wednesday at 7pm vs George School. Come out and support!

Each game was a back and forth battle point for point as the gym was high energy all night. But Faith found a way to keep the service pressure on and take all three sets 9-25, 14-25, 13-25. Dock found a way to get some huge blocks on Faith leading to big momentum shifts. As a team Dock fought and scrapped to 26 digs and 6 kills while easily bringing the most energy in the gym.
