Pioneers Win: 2.00 - 0.00
It was Homecoming Weekend, and Dock Girls Soccer came out ready to play on Saturday afternoon against Lansdale Catholic to start off the triple header of games. Lansdale Catholic came out with intensity as Dock struggled most of the first half to keep possession. Center midfielders Billinda Leisner, Emerson Gruver, Eden Loux and Shelby Lapp battled with LC’s powerhouses in the middle of the field. Both teams had difficulty keeping possession and having any dangerous opportunities to score. Halftime was just what the Pioneers needed to regroup and talk through what they needed to do to win the game. It wasn’t until the second half, that Dock started to find their composure and get back into playing the way they play their game. With 25 minutes left in regulation, freshman Ashley Brown brought down a ball out of the air in the middle of the field. She quickly found senior, Ashley Lapp, making her run down the left flank. Lapp took a few quick dribbles behind LC’s defender and was one on one with the goalkeeper inside the box. Ashley Lapp found the back of the net with a near post shot to earn the first goal of the game. As the rain started to pick up, Dock continued to focus on communication and possession with keeping the ball on the turf. Dock’s defensive line contributed a lot to Dock’s success with working the ball out of the back and finding their teammates feet. Just 15 minutes left in the game, sophomore Shelby Lapp followed up on a rebound from Olivia Moyer’s shot on goal. As Shelby was running to get the rebound, LC’s goalkeeper completely took her out of the play and Dock was awarded a penalty shot. Senior, Billinda Leisner, stepped up immediately to take the penalty kick, and easily found the back of the net to finalize the score 2-0. Dock continued to apply high pressure on Lansdale Catholic’s defense and communicated well throughout the field. After the final whistle blew, the girls knew this was a big win for them coming to the end of their regular season. Sophomore, Emily Markel was solid in goal with 8 saves. The Pioneers continue their season with a home game on Tuesday evening against The Christian Academy at 5:15pm.     Shots on Goal: 12   Goals: Ashley Lapp, Billinda Leisner

Pioneers Win: 7.00 - 0.00
It was a beautiful Wednesday evening in October, and the perfect night to honor 6 special seniors on Dock Girls Soccer team against Calvary Christian Academy. Dock started off the game with a high level of intensity and composure, but it took some time for them to earn their first goal of the match. In the17th minute of the game, Ashley Brown broke free off a throw in from Billinda Leisner. Brown found herself inside the box and tucked away a near post shot to earn the first goal of the game. Less than 2 minutes later, Brown found senior, Billinda Leisner, with the diagonal far side run. Leisner made the run through Calvary’s back line to find herself one on one with the goalie. Leisner placed a low shot to the far post to bring Dock’s lead to 2-0.  Less than 10 minutes to go in the first half, senior Ashley Lapp battled to find her open run down the right flank. With a quick combination pass with a center mid, Lapp found Brown open in the middle. Brown immediately found the space through to senior Billinda Leisner making the run. Leisner took a quick tough around Calvary’s goalkeeper for the easy tap in to earn the 3rd goal of the game. Within 45 seconds, Leisner found Brown with the open space run behind Calvary’s back line for the far post placement to earn her second goal of the night. The Lapp sisters worked together in the attacking third, and senior Ashley Lapp found herself taking the ball to Calvary’s end line. She placed the perfect slotted ball across to freshman Cora Gillespie, who easily found the back of the net to finalize the score 5-0 going into halftime. Having two sets of sisters on the field, there’s no denying their chemistry on and off the field. With 28 minutes to go in the game, senior sister, Olivia Moyer, battled through Calvary’s center backs to find herself one on one with Calvary’s goalkeeper. Selflessly, she found her sister, freshman, Tessa Moyer with the supporting run and gave her the perfect pass. Tessa found the easy pass into the back of the net to give Dock the 6-0. With 10 minutes left in the game, Dock’s other sister duo, Ashley and Shelby Lapp, proved just how strong sister chemistry can be. Junior Eden Loux stayed composed in the central midfield to find Shelby Lapp checking into the open space. Shelby knew her sister was making the run behind Calvary’s defensive line and found her with the perfect through ball. Senior Ashley Lapp took one touch around Calvary’s goalkeeper and placed her shot in the middle of the net to finalize the score 7-0. Another Friday night under the lights, and Dock Girls Soccer came out strong against Delaware County Christian. Knowing this match is never an easy one, the girls prepared every day of practice knowing Delco’s goalkeeper, Suzannah Green, always makes it a tough match. 5 minutes into the game, sophomore Emerson Gruver stayed composed in the central midfield to find the slotted through ball to freshman Ashley Brown. Brown took one touch and placed a low driven shot far post to give Dock the lead. 5 minutes later, senior Ashley Lapp found Billinda Leisner on the far side. Leisner used her head to deflect the ball over Delco’s back line and found herself shoulder to shoulder with their center back. Leisner hit a one time shot on a bouncing ball and chipped Delco’s goalkeeper to earn the second goal of the match. About one minute later, center mid, Emerson Gruver, once again found her open teammate. This time, senior Ashley Lapp open to receive the pass, took a prep touch with her left foot, and hit a quick shot with her right. Lapp’s shot was a rocket to the far upper corner from 25 yards out. Dock continued to dominate in the middle of the field with strong passing combinations and movement off the ball. Less than 2 minutes left in the first half, freshman Ashley Brown capitalized off a mistake by one of Delco’s defenders. Brown battled through their defensive line to find herself in a one on one once again with Delco’s goalkeeper, Suzannah Green. Brown found the low, far corner once again to solidify Dock’s lead going into half time.  After a positive first half, Dock knew they needed to continue with their momentum and composure for the next 40 minutes of the game. Less than 2 minutes into the second half, senior Ashley Lapp, found space down the flank and dribbled into the box. She slotted the ball perfectly across to her sister, sophomore, Shelby Lapp. Shelby Lapp applied heavy pressure as she was running in to cause an own goal off Delco’s defender.
