Aaron Sensenig and James Steinmetz represented the Dock Cross Country team well to end the season. The seniors had strong finishes at the PIAA State Championships Saturday on the famed and difficult Hershey course.Sensenig ran 19:06 to place 127th overall in the 1A Division, better than half the field. The time was almost a full two minutes faster than he ran in the state meet two years ago. And, after finishing 12th at the District 1A Championships the week before, Sensenig was the ninth finisher from the district Saturday. Steinmetz clocked 20:00 in his first trip to the state meet. He finished 174th after navigating the tough hills of the course and putting together an impressive final mile. It was his first season of cross country, and just reaching states was an accomplishment. He then also performed far better than most first-time qualifiers at states.Sensenig and Steinmetz are the lone seniors on this year’s Pioneers team.

Dock Girls Soccer onto District Finals!Last night, Girls Soccer hosted Calvary Christian Academy for the first round of Districts. With a focused and strong warm up behind them, the girls were determined to earn the ‘W’ to advance to the District Finals. After a shaky start, Dock finally settled into their game when Junior, Shelby Lapp, found the back of the net in the 15th minute to take the lead 1-0. Sophomore Ashley Brown received a beautiful through ball from Junior, Ava Stokes. Once Calvary’s goalkeeper came out to pressure Brown, she found Lapp open in the middle of the box with a perfectly placed ball for an easy finish. For most of the first half, Dock remained composed and was able to switch the field often through the midfield. With 10 minutes left in the first half, and a lot of commotion in the middle of the field, Brown was able to find Junior, Emerson Gruver in open space. Gruver played a quick one-two combination and found Brown on the run into the box. Brown found herse

The Dock boys cross country team made history Wednesday. The Pioneers won the Independence Division in the Bicentennial Athletic League Championships, snapping a 15-year run by Jenkintown in the smaller schools division. Dock finished the Tyler State Park course with 40 points, 21 points better than runner-up Plumstead Christian. Phil-Mont Christian Academy was third. Jenkintown did not have a complete team. Dock seniors Aaron Sensenig and James Steinmetz both medaled individually, but it took a collective effort from the Pioneers for the rare team title. The last known Pioneers title came prior to 1995. The Pioneers have walked a thin line between having enough to score all season, twice this year not having the minimum five to score as a team. But when the races meant the most, Dock had six finishers to claim a BAL crown with the four who had run Tyler earlier this year all bettering their times on the tough course. That play is already an instant classic! Jenna served a flawless game at the service line, then earned a big kill out of the middle and capped it off with a BIG block at the net!
